We are pleased to introduce you to Snookums!

“Snook” is a beautiful little girl looking for her forever home. She is 16 months old, black and tan and weighs 68 pounds. She is still a pup so she’ll fill out a bit!

Snook came to us when her elderly owner could no longer care for a dog her size. She is a very sweet girl; she loves people and other dogs. She is well mannered and polite with strangers and even the vet! Her foster mom has done a great job training her; Snook knows all of her basic commands and walks very nicely on a leash. She enjoys playing with her collection of balls and walking and hiking with her foster brothers and sisters and all of her doggie friends. She loves attention, and like many GSDs is always right at your side. She enjoys riding in the car and experiencing new places, people and dogs. She is well socialized and gets along great with everyone.

Snook has not been cat tested, so it is unknown at this time if she could peacefully co-exist with a feline friend. She gets along well with dogs of all sizes and would do well in a home with other dogs; she is living with 3 large dogs in her foster home and gets along nicely with all.

Snook’s new family should be able to spend time enhancing her obedience skills; she is a smart girl and a quick learner. They should also be able to provide her with plenty of exercise and structure, as she is still a puppy! She is an amazing girl that you could take anywhere and everywhere, she is that well behaved! She has met some children and did well with them, but we would recommend older children due to her size. She would be a shoo-in for a CGC certificate too, and her new family may even be interested in training her as a therapy dog to visit nursing homes and hospitals.

Snookums is spayed; crate and house trained, and up to date on all vaccinations. We did have her hips x-rayed while she was under anesthesia for her spay surgery and the vet said they look good, although we did not get an OFA Certification.

Snook will make an incredible addition to any family. She has lots of love to give and we are hoping to find her a loving, active family. If you or anyone you know is interested in adopting Snookums please complete and adoption application and email it to adopt@germanshepherdcenter.org .
